My Question for AEDU 622...

(sorry I didn't realize there was no question posted last time)

This is a non-education question. The internet has been going strong for over 15 years. What fun thing have you discovered or heard about that made you stop and think "Now THAT is a cool and innovative use of the Web!" Post the link if you can find it, or at least describe what you saw.

Here is mine: I stumbled upon a free site called Pandora last year. Pandora uses an algorithm to determine what type of music you would like to hear. You set up a custom "station" based on Elvis, or Jazz, or Spanish guitar, or pretty much any starting point, and Pandora will stream music mathematically selected to match that genre. As the music plays, you can click thumbs up or down to force your custom station to evolve. Check it out!

Comments:
Apparently there is a site to organize your bookmarks and view others bookmarks. You can type in key words to search through specific topics and view others favorite sites.

I tried to make the link work but it kept telling me it was broken. Do you know what I'm doing wrong?

del.icio.us
is a great site.
To make the URL work, you have to copy the entire tag from < to >.
Give it another try and preview first
to see if it works

The Pandora site is great, and I enjoyed revisiting to re-read he Second Life story.

As far as innovation goes, I'll never forget years ago, when IM-ing was relatively new, the joy that my friend received from being able to communicate with his deaf mother. It just blew my mind. The SETI project is still cool in my book.

Pandora is a great site! I have been using it for a couple years now and am still finding many that have never heard of it. Another cool site is http://rubistar.4teachers.org

It offers a rubric generator for you to customize based on the lesson or you can select a rubric from many pre-made options and customize that to suit your needs.
